Deosai National Park Skardu Baltistan is a beautiful natural landmark valley, located in Astore, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. The park was established in 1993 and also to protect the survival of the Himalayan of brown bear. It has an average elevation of 4,114 meters above sea level, and the park protects an area of 3,000 square kilometers.
Deosai National Park is the combination of two words ‘Deo’ means (Giant) and ‘Sai’ means (Shadow). In the memories of early centuries, it was believed that the place was haunted by giants, and so the name "Land of the Giants" that’s why local people called it land of Giants.
In Deosai National Park is a wonderful lake called Deosai Lake, or Sheosar Lake meaning "Blind Lake", has an elevation of 4,142 meters, it is one of the highest lakes in the world. Deosai National Park has also plain to make home for different animals, species like Red fox, Snow leopard, Golden Marmot, Wolf, Snakes, Peacocks, and in species like Eagle, Griffon, Vulture, Lammergeyer, Sparrows, Hawk, Lagger, falcon and so many other animal and species include in Deosai National Park Skardu.
