Tarbela Dam Haripur is a world second largest dam, and playing a major role in this country, located on Tarbela town, Indus River, Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

It construction was started in 1968, and completed in 1976, under the supervision of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), on behalf of the Government of Pakistan. Under the cost of USD 1.497 billion, approximately.

However, Tarbela Dam Project is the huge water reservoir, and was technically designed to store huge amount of water near to Indus River. Simultaneously, it's purpose of used for main reasons like Irrigation, Flood Control, and the Generation of Hydroelectric Power. It’s reservoir capacity is about to 11.62 Million-acre feet (14.3 billion cubic meters), and Tarbela Dam turbines is about 4,888 MW, 6,298 MW, which rotate in a very quantitative way.

Surrounding of Tarbela dam has Tarbela Monument, Tarbela Power Station, Tarbela Dam View Point, Tarbela Dam Spillway, Jamia Masjid, Tarbela Golf Course, and some few others features can be seen during the trip of Tarbela Dam.
