Tarbela Dam

Tarbela Dam Haripur is a world largest Dam and playing a major role, located on Tarbela town, Indus River, Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It was start working in 1976, it's a very huge water management project. It is Distance from Haripur is about to 54.8km or 1hr 32min and from Islamabad is about 111km or 1 h 52 min far.

However, Tarbela dam project is the second largest dam in the world, and was technically designed to store huge amount of water near to Indus River, for many purposes like irrigation, flood control, and the generation of hydroelectric power, its reservoir capacity is about to 11.62 million acre feet (14.3 billion cubic meters), and tarbela dam turbines is exactly 10 × 175 MW, 4 × 432 MW, which rotate in a very quantitative way.

Similarly, this project was under the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.
