Central Library Bahawalpur

Central Library Bahawalpur is one of the old historical Public Library, located at Bahawalpur, Punjab, Pakistan. Its Construction started in 1927 and was under the control of Ameer of Bahawalpur, Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi V and Sir Rufus Daniel Issacs in a very professional way.

Similarly, Bahawalpur Central Library has another name called Sadiq Reading Library which had took the foundation stones was laid on 8th March 1924, by Sir Rufus Daniel lsaacs, the Viceroy and Governor General of India. Its building design is so unique and elegant rather than other buildings in Bahawalpur. Collection of library item is very informative for students and researchers of different projects.

Bahawalpur Library building design has consisted of Classical Italian Style and its development was passes through after various stages. Thus, it expanded from single portion to three separate portions that provide a reader friendly environment, includes Main Hall for Women and Children's, third portion for scholars doing research in Bahawalpur Khawaja Fareed and other scientific reasons and get all the information related goods without membership.

Central Library is the Second Biggest Public Library famous for its 105000 collections of Treasury Books, huge collection of old and national Newspapers since 1947 preserved such as, Koh-i-Noor, Awadh Akbar, Punch, Dawn, and Pakistan Times, and more than Lac Books fair number of Manuscripts, Historical Documents, Collection of Religious Books, Political and Social information, and all kind of Quran edition handwritten copies available for the Readers and Visitors. It has also arranged Seminars, Workshops, Book Fairs, and Promoting Mass Education by arranging Literacy Walks, and Debates.
