This story is based on real life tale of Roland Doe's possession, "The Exorcist" in 1971, novel of the same name by William Peter Blatty, which was inspired by the exorcism case of Roland Doe.

Roland Doe was born in 1936, into a German American family, during the 1940s, who lived in Cottage City, Maryland. After Estefania Gutierrez died, her parents called the police because they were experiencing paranormal activities, reported by the police officer. This case was never solved.
